Again GMB leads the fight on PPE and talks to the Rt Hon Keir Starmer.
On the 17th April 2020 Our branch president Charlotte Faulkner spoke on sky news to the Labour leader about PPE and our continuing concerns.
Charlotte told Keir Starmer that the PPE given to colleagues wasn’t up to scratch. she also said the aprons are not adequate in the pre-hospital setting and blew back in the faces which is putting staff at risk and is not acceptable.
Charlotte also told the Labour leader ” we join to save lives, not to put our own at risk, but the reality on the ground is completely different from what the Government is saying”
” We have had staff who have unfortunately lost their lives and some are in a critical condition”
Rt Hon Keir Starmer agreed to raise this with the Government and thanked Charlotte for raising her concerns on behalf of her colleagues.
